For travellers from New Zealand
Tasmania offers a compelling focus for a golf trip from New Zealand: coastal golf at Barnbougle, an itinerary incorporating 7 Mile Beach, or a longer journey that considers King Island. The best package depends on your available days, arrival arrangements and the golf your group most wants to play.
Match the package to the trip you actually have
Our Tasmania golf tours page compares the current packages. Start there, then check the individual itinerary and inclusions. The choices below describe the focus of existing tours; they do not promise that every course, transfer or flight can fit every set of dates.
| Trip focus | Existing package to explore | Planning question |
|---|---|---|
| Golf with food and wine | 3-day Golf, Wine & Produce | How much time would you like away from the course? |
| Barnbougle and heritage golf | 4-day Barnbougle & Ratho Farm | Does the proposed route suit your arrival and departure? |
| Barnbougle and King Island | 4-day Barnbougle & King Island | Which flight stages and golf-bag allowances need confirming? |
| Barnbougle and 7 Mile Beach | 5-day Barnbougle & 7 Mile Beach | How will northern and southern Tasmania connect? |
| A broader Tasmania journey | 7-day Tasmania Golf Adventure | Which courses and non-golf experiences are priorities? |
Confirm the airports before booking flights
Your route through Tasmania should shape your airport choices. An itinerary involving northern Tasmania, Hobart or King Island can have different transport requirements from a stay centred on one destination. Send your proposed flight details when you enquire, including any domestic connections.
Check the actual operating airline’s luggage and golf-bag allowance on every service. King Island requires separate travel planning; availability and connection times must be considered together. A published tour length does not, by itself, confirm that your chosen flights match the itinerary.
Plan for your golf group and accompanying partners
For a golf-club group or a trip with friends, send golfer numbers, home clubs, handicaps, preferred room arrangements and the rounds you most want. If your group is smaller than an advertised package requires, ask for a tailored proposal instead of assuming the listed group price applies.
Non-golfers should be included in the brief from the beginning. Tell us whether they prefer scenic touring, food and wine, relaxed accommodation time or shared activities. We can consider those interests when planning the itinerary and quote; arrangements and inclusions are confirmed in writing.
Compare inclusions in the same currency
If your starting budget is in New Zealand dollars, state NZD clearly. Check the currency on the actual quotation and review golf, accommodation, transport, meals, flights and any optional experiences separately. Inclusions vary between tours, and exchange rates are not fixed by an example itinerary.
LGST operates its own transport fleet in Tasmania. Tell us how many golf bags and suitcases you expect to bring so transport can be considered for the real group, rather than player numbers alone.
Prepare your equipment and travel documents
Remove soil, grass and other plant material from your clubs, shoes and bags before travelling. Equipment should be clean and dry; follow the current Australian biosecurity guidance and declaration instructions.
Entry requirements depend on your passport and circumstances, not simply where you live. Check the official Australian entry information before booking.
Add mainland Australia when it suits the journey
If you want to extend beyond Tasmania, our luxury Australian golf tours can consider Melbourne, Sydney and other requested regions in a tailored national proposal. Royal Melbourne, Kingston Heath and other private clubs have their own visitor conditions; requested rounds are subject to eligibility, approval and availability.
For an overview of national routing and club requests, read our Australian golf holiday planning guide. A focused Tasmania trip and a multi-region Australian holiday solve different needs, so begin with the time and priorities you actually have.
Questions New Zealand golfers often ask
Can we build a shorter custom Tasmania golf trip?
Yes. Send your available dates and preferred golf. A custom proposal can be considered, subject to availability and the practical route.

Some published itineraries include King Island. Review the individual itinerary and confirm its flight arrangements, golf-bag allowances and availability for your dates.
Can LGST work with our New Zealand travel agent?
