Your itinerary
Enjoy the 7-day Golf tour in luxury comfort. We will welcome you from Launceston airport. After a 1-hour (approximately) journey consisting of cold refreshments and sightseeing, we will arrive at the magnificent Barnbougle and Lost farm complex.
At Barnbougle, golf is an experience that strikes all the senses. With the sun on your back, the wind in your hair, the whiff of sea salt, and the roar of the ocean, you’ll be captivated by all that Mother Nature has to offer.
Barnbougle becomes more about a game of strategy than simply a game of golf. Each shot requires tactical thought, where a little creativity can be very rewarding. It’s strong enough to test gifted golfers, yet fair enough to be enjoyed by the average player.
Once this majestic golf course has been mastered, let us show you the other attractions which make this venue so spectacular. A gorgeous 3-course meal and delightful accommodation will complete today perfectly.
Today the magic of the Barnbougle Lost Farm golf course will commence. Barnbougle Lost Farm is a breathtaking golf course, dramatically different yet complementary to both the surrounding landscape and the Barnbougle Dunes. A 20 hole course that will challenge golfers of all ages and abilities.
Despite the proximity of Lost Farm to Barnbougle Dunes, the two courses are remarkably different. The dunes on which Lost Farm is located are steeper and more dramatic than those of Barnbougle Dunes, which gives you two magnificent golf experiences.
Following the final winery tour, you will make the short 40-minute journey to the center of Launceston for your stay in one of the apartments at The Sebel. This boutique accommodation offers spacious rooms with balconies where you can enjoy a relaxing and peaceful stay. Once you have settled in, a three-course evening meal will be served at Bluestone Bar & Kitchen. This award-winning restaurant was voted Accor Pacific’s Franchise Restaurant of the Year in 2019 and proudly offers a true paddock-to-plate experience in addition to a wide range of Tasmania’s finest wines, whiskeys, and gins.
Today we will visit the North West of Tasmania, particularly focusing on the tremendous produce available.
Breakfast will take place after a 30-minute drive at the Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm, just outside the quaint town of Deloraine. Specializing in gourmet Raspberry delights and a must-do when visiting Tasmania.
A short journey away is the House of Anvers Chocolate Factory. When you visit the House of Anvers you can see their qualified confectionery staff tempering, molding and enrobing fine couverture chocolates, truffles, pralines, fudges, and more.
The Mersey Bluff is located in Devonport and a great spot to take in the magic sea air and stretch the legs. The Spirit of Tasmania service connects Tasmania and the Mainland and docks in Devonport and is a regular destination for tourists who wish to bring their vehicles across.
Lunch and wine tasting take us to a stunning winery, Ghost Rock Vineyard. The vibrant cellar door – twice crowned Tourism Tasmania’s ‘Best Cellar Door’ – offers wine tastings and lunch featuring local artisan food producers. Surrounded by its six vineyards and with striking views over Tasmania’s pristine coastline and countryside, it’s one of the state’s unique wine experiences.
Our final destination is for the cheese lovers, Ashgrove Cheese Factory. Ashgrove Cheese is a family-owned and operated company that produces premium quality dairy products for handcrafted cheddar-style cheeses for customers all across Australia. Ashgrove’s impeccable quality has been proven again and again with accolades from the Dairy Industry Association of Australia and other dairy and food award shows, proof that is constantly reinforced by the enduring loyalty of their customers.
Waking up at the gorgeous Sebel apartments makes way to what a special day today will become.
The next iconic and historic slice of paradise we visit will be on the way to Tasmania’s capital, Hobart. 45 minutes south of Hobart is the small town of Bothwell. Within Bothwell, lies a destiantion so unique, we had to add it to this amazing package. Ratho Farm!
Ratho Farm is a destination, an experience. With the country’s oldest golf course, accommodation in former convict barns and stables, and a classic highland homestead with lounges, you’ll wish you had more time to explore. Ratho Farm has played host to some colourful characters ranging from Melbourne Cup winners, bushrangers, 100-year-old gardeners, fierce political debates, golfing royalty and one of England’s best known artists.
In keeping with the traditions of Old Scotland, Ratho Farm remains a public course and is open to all, every day of the week. The newly re-opened course features a unique mix of holes, including the open and windswept old holes, restored original holes in a parkland setting, and four newly-designed holes along the Clyde riverbank towards neighbouring Nant Distillery.
After a solid 18 hole hit out, Ratho will play host to exceed expectations with a gorgeous 3-course meal, before luxury accommodation provides the ultimate boutique experience.
Feeling refreshed after a beautiful night’s rest, you will be greeted with a fully cooked breakfast in the Ratho homestead.
We then make our way to a beautiful and historic town, Ross. Ross is arguably the finest 19th-century village in Australia. Cobble-style paths and grand old elm trees line the main street, while the Ross Bridge, Australia’s third oldest bridge still standing, is possibly the most beautiful of its kind left in the world. A perfect location to stretch the legs and enjoy a drink.
Launceston has an abundance of world-class wineries. Josef Chromy Vineyard is particularly stunning. Acclaimed as one of Australia’s top ten, the cellar door is housed in the original 1880s homestead. There’s always a log fire burning and a great view to take in while you taste a wide range of award-winning cool-climate wines including sparkling, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Sauvignon blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Botrytis Riesling, and a Ruby Pinot Port. We will enjoy a gorgeous lunch at Josef Chromy Vineyard today.
The second and final winery we will visit is Sharmans Wines. Sharmans’ renowned Tasmanian wines benefit not only from the maturity of the vines but also from a variety of other factors that result in exceptional conditions for the growth and ripening of the fruit. The vineyard is planted on north-facing slopes, and the soils are clay-based and sufficiently austere to produce slow ripening of the grapes, enabling a full development of flavor and complexity in our wines. We will have the luxury of tasting a range of these wines.
Back to the Sebel Launceston where you will once again enjoy beautiful accommodation. Dinner a short walk away at Rupert & Hound within the Seaport restaurant precinct.
Today we venture to the gorgeous King Island. An all-inclusive flight to this spectacular destination will make the morning a seamless and enjoyable experience.
King Island is anchored in the middle of the Bass Strait between Victoria and Tasmania’s North West coast. Surrounded by some of Australia’s most beautiful beaches, King Island has two new golf courses in Ocean Dunes and Cape Wickham which are ranked among the best in the world and we get to experience them both!
Our first destination once landed will be at the Ocean Dunes Golf Club for a spectacular round of 18 holes.
Ocean Dunes has added another dimension to the world’s love affair with outstanding new golf courses in remote, challenging locations. The course is strategically layered as it is visually mesmerizing, changing with the seasons and the volatile conditions.
After a breathtaking round of links golf, Luxury Golf & Scenic Tours Tasmania will provide the leading accommodation and dinner options available to ensure a memorable experience all around.
With breakfast included you will be set for the final day of our adventure. Cape Wickham will be on the menu today and what an unbelievable course this is. Australia’s number 1 public access golf course, number 3 course in Australia, and number 24 in the world! For many, this course will be the pinnacle of the trip. Why not save the best for last?
There are stunning ocean vistas from every single hole on the course. The change in elevation on the fairways is dramatic, the bunkers are superb, and the scenery is stunning. Many golf courses have a standout hole but with Cape Wickham Golf Course, every hole is a standout.
Once completed refreshments will be provided and after last-minute photos, the team will take you to the airport. But this will not be goodbye, we will see you again soon!
